on a roll

So lately I have been inspired and all about my blog unlike some guy I know who looks a lot like me minus my massive boobs and he is more ashy and has a 23 inch waist. But

In any event-I went back and forth on discussing my new love-lobster mac n cheese from j. gilberts-I apologize for anyone who is not a proponent of seafood but for those of you who love some lobster and crustaceans and such-this meal is so decadent

I tried it for the first time last Friday at happy hour and best believe I stopped last night on my way

Its delicious-it is the blend of the gourmet cheeses, it is the creamy texture and the addition of the lobster. But what does it for me about this particular dish is the bread crumbs that are sprinkled on top-they remain crunchy and the perfect golden texture  throughout the devouring of the decadence

I am sitting at my desk right now working and watching Gourmet’s diary of a foodie podcast-they are focusing on Vietnam/fish soup called “canh chua ca-Sweet n sour soup”

I am all about it-I think food is my passion-I am thinking my next self quest may be to take cooking lessons-I would love to explore maybe the French cuisine or something fabulous-true Italian I am afraid would make me obese but I will not discount it yet

If it is something I explore I look forward to sharing what I learn with you all

Monday Mania

So here is the chaos that goes on in my mind

I had an amazing meal with my dh last night-excellent steak and French green beans-I cannot say enough how delicious it was!

So after I was in bed and ready to call it a night around 9pm. My body is achy from the little nothingness I did at flag football yesterday-I have a whole new appreciation for dh and joshy! Today I feel like I was hit by a truck-or maybe a super fast moped!

But last night insomnia struck around 3am and for literally like 2 hours we BOTH tossed and turned and turned and tossed and then at 5am-we were so not ready to leave the comforts of that darn tempur pedic bed

But last night I was thinking about church and the lesson I learned-now for those following along with your personal bibles (lol) the scripture was from john 15:1-5

The passage was about the vines and the branches and the fruit-and the lesson was that often we look at others and see the fruit or all the good things that they have and we feel like we are good people or we do the right thing why don’t I have a, b, and c, but the minister was saying it is easy to look at others and only see the good but not knowing the whole story not knowing all the sacrifices they have made or the burdens they must carry

So that was an excellent lesson because I think it is common for us to feel like we never get a break of luck or we never get what we ask for

But I thought of two friends of mine (a couple) they are an amazing couple-they are an excellent example of a positive strong married couple. I mean they exude love and happiness and when you look at them-they have a lot-they have a huge house-nice cars-from the outside they have it all

But they cannot have kids…so after hearing the message in church it just rang so true because others may quickly look at them and say they have it all, but what are their sacrifices-everyone does not know that they are unable to naturally have children

Soo that is your weekly lesson-stop thinking about others and what they have or don’t have and to stop comparing yourself to others and where they are in life or why you are not more successful-I just want to say grateful for what you have-the loved ones you have, the job you have-because even though the grass seems greener-you don’t know how long it was patches of dry dirt before the grass came in

Saturday morning rant

So I just have to come and vent for a second

My husband just came in from saturday football and was telling me how one of last year's players who moved last fall to like FL and had recently got married (within the past year)
Was back and telling the guys I got a divorce so I could come back and play football with you guys
And my husband said none of the guys asked what happened or anything-there next response was about football and hanging out
Really! I mean men are you that wack
The dissolution of a marriage is no joke-who cares about effing football
Men are constantly creating hostile relationship environments for those yet to be married or newly married
How or where do men get positive images of marriage when men all too easily say negative things or paint a picture of such a "not a big deal"

Marriage is not easy but you get out what you put in and it can be the most rewarding thing ever but you need to put the same time you put in your sports and everything else

Friday Fun and Funny

So here it is my favoritest day of the week-it’s 2:20 pm and I have like a little less than 2 hours at work

I have not blogged much this week but hopefully I will do better next week

This morning I had some situations that I felt the need to share.

#1-I think I saw a prostitute this morning-well I am pretty sure she was but she was not the good kind-which lead me to deduct that hookers may be like the ladies that work at hooters. In some cities such as vegas probably Miami they have great looking hooter chicks and probably great hookers, but the one I saw reminded me of the chicks at the hooters in woodbridge, va where josh and I went one time and they were mediocre at best!

So my theory is-if you choose that profession-be the best-hang out on capitol hill –look for the congressman and senators-put lotion on your legs-do not have tacky weave in your hair

Just my thoughts

#2-so I am going to a happy hour with my coworkers and I keep looking at the restaurant’s menu and I am going back and forth between lobster mac and cheese and white cheddar chipotle mashed potatoes!

Enough said

#3-living in dc-every morning I drive to work all I see are these dedicated runners-and every day I feel like I need to start running again so I can justify wearing little shorts!

But then I get to work and feel like yoga is working just fine for me so why bother

Sigh-I have not been to yoga all week-I feel bad! And I have been eating all kinds of junk food-thank goodness in small moderation

#4-josh is in Miami or something like that and therefore I am being neglected to no end

But hey today is Friday so like bobby mcfaran said-don’t worry be happy

And next week will be ultimately sad because my work wife shay is going on a cruise-I mean do people all coordinate their leaving me

Sigh

Tuesday

Sigh

So I am here at work having the discussion with m coworker on “what’s next”! I’m in a good job, but what is next? I feel like I am at a crossroad-I feel like I need a change.

Do not get me wrong my job is comfortable and as my sister reminded me for starting a family it is perfect, but I just don’t want to wake up and 5 years have gone by and somehow I lost my drive and ambition for greater things

My current job-ok good-not to sound like that because I am grateful in times like this to have a job but my passion is more in the criminal field-and I would like to make my way to that sector of the fbi

I go back and forth between leaving the fbi but I like the flexibility of the many field offices and transfer possibilities

My heart screams agent but I think for the life I want-it may not be the best-another academy-4 months back at fletc-not sure that is a good idea for a marriage

Yes it can be done-I just don’t think I should be the one doing it

But I would be just as satisfied if not more being in the division of my interest and having the balance of family and social life

So the government or maybe the fbi does not set up your career path or tell you this show you get here or there-I guess that is part of the journey figuring it out and using your resources

So if I am not one thing I am persistent and resourceful

So here begins my journey

Happy Monday

Hello All

It’s been awhile YES I know! However, let’s see what’s new and fun to talk about!

I had a fabulous weekend-I had Henna done to my hand (right) and feet! It looks very nice! I think this is something I may do regularly!

I went to church yesterday and man I am so resolved to just be the best I can be-the best friend-the best sister-the best wife-the best daughter! Just to truly be more giving of myself and less selfish and more patient and kind with my words and actions

It is so easy to get caught up in us doing WHAT we want to do and how WE want to do it because we feel it is OUR world and OUR way-but in reality that is the opposite of what the Bible says we should do and be

As Christians we should always think about our brother and sister and how we make them feel first we should always ask if we are being a good representative and how would we feel if God treated us the way we so easily treat our brother or sister or neighbors who are right there

It just makes you think

How often are we mean to someone or not giving as much as we could have of our time, of our love, of our kindness

Life is short and sometimes we need to take a look at how we really are spending it and what will others remember us as or by

So enough of the deep thought-on to my favorite topic-FOOD

So I had the most amazing milkshake yesterday-there is a place in DC it is called ZZ pizza and I guess the food is ok BUT they have the best milkshakes in a multitude of flavors my favorite being cotton candy! My wonderful hubby brought one for me yesterday in exchange for a football game! Fair trade to me!

So during my day of leisure yesterday I was perusing places I want to go visit-I am drawn to cold weather locations-I love a fresh snow fall when you are inside cozy somewhere-I love the peace and tranquility-I love getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city the sound of buses kids scream folks yelling

It is nice to stop and just hear nothing-allow your brain to recover from all the constant stimulation

So my short list I want to go to Alaska-not sure if in cruise form or what

Whistler or Calgary, Canada

Breckenridge, CO

Well I hope everyone makes this week count-make it good-be the person you know you should be-be better than you were last week

Eureka

I’m so smart I realized there are so many ways to skin a cat

So my job allegedly is watching everyone over the next 4months to see who is spending all their time on the internet and who is producing and who isn’t and even though I get my work done and don’t play around I decided to scale back my use while they are conducting their study

So I was afraid I would only be able to blog at home or after work from my BB-but I just realized I have my blog set up where I can email directly to it

So now I am on my work computer emailing from an acceptable account because I don’t keep GMAIL or GCHAT up anymore just in case-and yes I was smart enough to forward my GMAIL to this account

I feel like I handled that well

Because I am greedy and make no apologies for it-I am at my desk eating a Subway Cuban pulled pork sandwich-OMG-it is SO DAMN good!

The combo of American and pepper jack cheese and lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers and yellow mustard AND it’s pork AND Ham

The anti Muslim sandwich is what I call it!

I am in a place of complete and utter happiness and joy!

Today is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday the 13th-not sure well I’m pretty sure I do not believe in that sort of hype but maybe just to semi play along Ray and I will watch one of the specials that they undoubtedly will play!

How will you spend it?
