so as i was just here at my desk listening to Lauryn Hills EX FACTOR -as i was listening and thinking wow-back when she was at the top of her game BUT i was thinking how that song reminds me of summer-it makes me think of sun kissed skin and tank tops


i know a random thought

so i got my little porcelain crown the other day and either im just very aware of it or it feels odd-i cant stop touching it with my tongue-im like gee i want all my teeth to feel so polished and smooth

watched the movie GREEN ZONE last night-it was pretty good-i think id slap my recommendation on it

so its finally friday -oh sidebar-for any of you who are SUBWAY fans-they have another limited edition CUBAN sub-and all i will say is its YUM-MAZING

im still adjusting to being back in DC-it felt like good ole times being home and having all my family around-i didnt get to socialize outside of the family reunion activities but it felt like HOME
i was so happy-i saw my kels and she pushed some Better Maid down my throat-sigh-but Josh and I got along and it was me-Reg-Shurony and Josh all there and i think this was the best time we have had id are say ever-maybe because we are all grown and just in a place where we can truly appreciate each other and be grateful for our bonds

i can honestly say i have THE BEST family ever-there is no one in the world who has better family than me-I can GUARANTEE-we know how to have fun and our love for one another is UNRIVALED

i felt old a few times like when my cousin Janet said 30 was old but I guess when you are 17 it did seem old but when you are 29 it seems so young yet

i walked away from the weekend feeling revitalized and refreshed and whole

I hate to start off my blog with something mean BUT my next door neighbor who always has the loud dogs who are always outside and never walked AND who just got his dogs back last week from the shelter-who I have deemed to be like Mike Vicks uncle-soo apparently one of the dogs dies-now my speculation is heat stroke I mean rotties nor most breeds can not be left on your deck with no shade in 96 degree weather HOWEVER Darryl told Ray that the dog died because she got spayed-NOW I'm no vet or anything and this isn't 1920 or some backyard dog abortion so I'm going with my theory and even if his was partially accurate an infection from the surgery could have been avoiding by ensuring the dog took the free antibiotics

So that's that
The yoga princess is emerging today although after 2 weeks off I'm like the yoga invalid. Sitting here drinking a juice I made-kale-lemon-carrots-peaches-and blueberries!

So you know how sometimes in our lives we carry certain crutches whether they are an unhealthy friendship or an ex you keep in touch with or just bad habits that we are afraid to break-i think we do this because we are afraid of having to deal with ourselves or the fear of standing on our own two feet
But the bottom line is sometimes in order to really grow and flourish we have to cut those strings let that ship sail and then really fulfill our potential

Time to blog

So I just spent the weekend in nyc with josh for his bar crawl
So all I can say is I am glad that he loves it and its not for me
There is something about obnoxious drunken behavior that really turns me off
Drunk chicks are silly drunk guys loose discretion
I'm glad I went so I could see what it was about but I think in the future for my brother's birthday I can do dinner or something but 8 hours in a bar to me and hey I'm just the square workaholic but its for kids its for college kids 21 years give or take
I'd prefer a more intimate setting but hey it was free entertainment

So-i slept with my first blonde last night :)

Now I sit on the megabus-SIGH-all I will say is none of their outlets work and I'm sitting next to an island woman the older kind who is eating a beef patty and probably has sweaty tissues in her bra
And she is extra not thin and therefore her arm is all across the arm rest and touching me
Next trip I'm driving the white pony (yes I just named my car that) but then I can crank up my XM sing along and not deal with the others of the world

mid day thoughts

so here i am at my desk super duper excited about my trip yo NY tomorrow-i havent seen my brother in SO long and I feel he is way over due for some specialized AJ attention

been so long

i hope everyone had a wonderful and restful holiday

mine was good-lets rewind from yesterday-i finally went back to yoga after a week off from being sick-and let me just say i think i am completely writing off the the midday classes during the week-there are a SPECIAL people that attend these classes
so yesterday i was stuck next to the asian non hot guy who felt its appropriate to wear the shorts-which i believe are underwear-they were spandex and i promise you had they been on ANY one else-his boys and accesories would have been hanging out

and to top it off he was one of those people who show up early and start going through all their yoga poses before class starts as if demonstrating their flexibility and skill is impressive-yoga is about self growth and practice not who is the best yogi

i mean i can darn sure come in half naked if we want to show off great bodies-but its not about that-so stop being a show off and please dont come with tiny shorts on

lets see sunday after church-which FYI i LOVE my new church-love that there are lots of young couples and people in my age range and the church is growing
but then i had the grand idea in all of my lacking infinite genius to ride my bike downtown to the mall where all the festivities were taking place
so i figured yes its a little hot like 96+ degrees BUT i'll be on my bike its only a few miles
i rode like 4 ish to get down there and whenever you do something dumb like that you always need to calculate in the return trip-hmmmmm i didn't

i got home with a sore butt and completely hot and miserable and that was all she wrote
i was so drained-i slept through the fireworks on tv

now im back to work-feeling good-feeling great

so i was tired of hearing all about guys and their "swagger" and "swagger this and swagger that"
BUT i must say- my sexy swagger is on today

ive got the linen suit pants on-a charcoal sleeveless ruffled front top-some black loafers -low pony tail-long dangling silver earrings-a little face glow and i just feel sexy today-and i think when you wake up and embrace your inner sexy it shows it evident

so i wont say my swagger is on-but my sexy is on and im loving it!!!

its been awhile

so i have been very josh like in neglecting my blog

so lets see if i can do a quick catch up

#1-i am at my desk tired and ready for a nap

i have had this lovely asthma/allergy cough for the past week and its keeping me up at night-hence the tiredness and ready to go home and crawl under my soft blanket and not have to get up until i'm ready

#2-i have not been to yoga in a week and my body is not happy-and i just hope i dont revert back to my old body -lol


i saw eclipse yesterday-LOVED IT-even though if i were directing it-i would lose that stupid PG 13 rating but i also realize who its geared towards-for all the adults who do love it there are a trillion tweenies and their parents so from a financial standpoint i guess the disney rating sticks
BUT it was good and there were still some hot moments that took me back
to being a teen with those more than urgent feelings

so lets see sick, movie, no yoga-what else!

i cant think-im too tired

oh i do want to add one thing i heard today that i was like WOW
a friend of mine from high school who now resides in the Big Easy-she and her husband just departed for a multi country vacation they are in Tokyo now than australia and i think quite a few other places-the best part of all this is that they left July 1st through September
i LOVE LOVE that they are going away for 2 months to travel-
i love that they are taking that time for themselves and each other
and wow to travel internationally for months
